Excentus Adds C-Store Reward Issuing to Reward Marketplace(R)
IRVING, Texas, November 6, 2007 - Excentus Corp., the leader in fuel site marketing programs, technology and integration services, announced the addition of C-Store reward issuing to its' Reward Marketplace applications. This reward issuing capability makes it possible for C-Store owners to introduce a stand-alone reward program that builds loyal customers by offering cents-per-gallon discounts for purchases made inside the convenience store or, optionally, at the fuel dispenser.
Dickson Perry, President and CEO of Excentus, said, "For the past 8 years, grocery retailers have been attracting customers to their stores by offering promotions that reward shoppers with cents-per-gallon discounts at the pump. C-Store operators have participated in the grocery-centric programs by serving as reward redemption locations. Now, C-Store operators can choose between operating their own fuel-based reward program or participating in a partnership program like the those run by grocers today. Whichever path they choose, C-Store owners will benefit from increased inside and fuel sales."
The C-Store issuing capability makes it possible for convenience retailers to set up promotions offering cents-per-gallon discounts to customers through any combination of the following scenarios:
- Customer spends $X at the C-Store chain over multiple visits and receive $0.YY in cents-per-gallon discount once the threshold is reached
- Customer purchases specially promoted products (i.e. coffee, candy, etc.) at the chain and receives $0.YY cents-per-gallon discount for each product purchased
- Customer purchases $X worth of fuel at the chain and receives an incremental $0.YY cents-per-gallon discount available on their next fill-up
To redeem their fuel discounts, customers simply swipe their reward card at the fuel dispenser or present it to the clerk inside a c-store. The discounts are automatically applied to the current transaction, and customers can both earn and redeem discounts in the same transaction.
The reward program is enabled by Excentus' Reward Link product which interfaces to Excentus' Reward Marketplace host. Reward Link is certified with the major C-Store POS systems, including Ruby SuperSystem, Gilbarco Passport and Wayne Nucleus. The Radiant POS system is scheduled for certification in the first quarter of 2008. By interfacing to the major POS systems, Reward Link makes it possible for C-Store operators to participate in reward programs without replacing their existing POS equipment, making it affordable to implement a cohesive program across an entire chain of sites.
To help get reward programs off the ground with minimal time and cost, Excentus offers an optional packaged program branded Gas Perks(R). The package contains all of the elements needed to launch a C-Store Reward Program, including in-store and forecourt signage, training materials and operational manuals. Excentus also provides consulting services to help retailers define and implement their own branded programs.
